LUXYLENE Polypropylene is a blue non-absorbable monofilament surgical suture with a fine taper needle, providing smooth tissue passage, minimal trauma and reliable long-term wound support.
LUXYLENE Polypropylene (PP) is a premium blue non-absorbable monofilament surgical suture designed for ultra-delicate soft tissue procedures where precise control, smooth penetration and minimal tissue reaction are essential. Manufactured to stringent European quality standards, it delivers consistent handling and dependable clinical performance.
This variant is supplied in USP 6/0 (EP 0.7) with a 75 cm suture length and a 1/2 circle taper needle measuring 8 mm. The fine taper needle geometry separates tissue fibres rather than cutting them, allowing exceptionally gentle penetration and accurate wound edge approximation in very delicate or superficial tissue.
Manufactured from high-quality blue polypropylene monofilament, LUXYLENE offers low tissue drag, reduced capillarity and excellent resistance to degradation. The monofilament structure supports smooth passage through tissue and secure knot formation, while the blue colour enhances visibility within the surgical field for precise placement and control.
As a non-absorbable suture, LUXYLENE Polypropylene retains tensile strength over time, making it suitable for procedures requiring prolonged wound support or where delayed suture removal is anticipated. Its inert material properties help minimise inflammatory response and support predictable healing outcomes.
Individually sterile packed and clearly labelled, LUXYLENE Polypropylene ensures traceability, regulatory compliance and safe use in hospitals, clinics and surgical centres. It is particularly suited to microsurgical, ophthalmic and other delicate soft tissue procedures requiring a fine blue polypropylene taper needle suture.
