LUXYLENE Polypropylene is a blue non-absorbable monofilament surgical suture with double-armed taper-cut needles, delivering controlled penetration, minimal tissue reaction and reliable long-term wound support.
LUXYLENE Polypropylene (PP) is a premium blue non-absorbable monofilament surgical suture engineered for procedures requiring controlled needle penetration, dependable tensile strength and minimal tissue reactivity. Manufactured to stringent European quality standards, it delivers consistent handling and reliable clinical performance.
This variant is supplied in USP 2/0 (EP 3) with a 90 cm suture length and a double-armed configuration, featuring two 1/2 circle taper-cut needles measuring 25 mm. The taper-cut point combines smooth tissue separation with enhanced cutting efficiency at the tip, allowing controlled penetration and precise wound edge approximation, particularly in denser or more resistant soft tissues. The double-armed design supports symmetrical suturing techniques and improved efficiency during continuous or opposing closures.
Manufactured from high-quality blue polypropylene monofilament, LUXYLENE offers low tissue drag, reduced capillarity and excellent resistance to degradation. The monofilament structure supports smooth passage through tissue and reliable knot security, while the blue colour enhances visibility within the surgical field for accurate placement and control.
As a non-absorbable suture, LUXYLENE Polypropylene maintains tensile strength over time, making it suitable for procedures requiring prolonged wound support or where delayed suture removal is anticipated. Its inert material properties help minimise inflammatory response and support predictable healing outcomes.
Individually sterile packed and clearly labelled, LUXYLENE Polypropylene ensures traceability, regulatory compliance and safe use in hospitals, clinics and surgical centres. It is suitable for general surgery and soft tissue approximation where a strong blue polypropylene double-armed taper-cut suture is clinically indicated.
