Luxcryl PGA Rapid Absorbable Surgical Suture

Luxcryl PGA Rapid is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture manufactured from polyglycolic acid (PGA) in a braided, coated multifilament structure. It is specifically designed to provide short-term wound support where rapid absorption is clinically beneficial.

The suture is coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate (1%), ensuring smooth tissue passage, secure knot performance and minimal tissue reaction. Luxcryl PGA Rapid retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 7 days and is fully absorbed within approximately 42 days, making it suitable for procedures requiring fast healing and reduced foreign material presence.

Typical indications include superficial soft tissue closure, mucosal suturing, plastic and reconstructive procedures, episiotomy repair, paediatric soft tissue closure, urological applications such as circumcision, and ophthalmic procedures involving conjunctiva.

Available in undyed beige and violet, with a range of needle shapes, sizes and suture diameters to meet varied surgical requirements.
