Browse commonly used sutures for breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, breast reduction and mastopexy procedures, including absorbable and non-absorbable options for layered closure and cosmetic skin closure.
Breast surgery procedures often require layered wound closure to support deeper tissue structures while also achieving a clean cosmetic skin finish. Longer-lasting absorbable sutures such as PDS II® may be selected for deeper tissue support, while VICRYL® is commonly used for soft tissue approximation and layered closure.
For dermal and subcuticular closure, MONOCRYL® is frequently selected in cosmetic procedures due to its absorbable monofilament structure. Where removable skin sutures are preferred, non-absorbable monofilament options such as PROLENE® or ETHILON® may be used depending on surgeon preference and technique.
