Browse commonly used sutures for facelift and rhytidectomy procedures, including absorbable and non-absorbable options for deep tissue support, SMAS closure and fine cosmetic skin closure.
Facelift surgery, also known as rhytidectomy, often requires layered wound closure. Deeper structures such as the SMAS layer may require longer-lasting absorbable sutures such as PDS II®, while dermal and subcuticular layers may be closed using absorbable monofilament sutures such as MONOCRYL®.
For fine cosmetic skin closure, surgeons may select non-absorbable monofilament sutures such as PROLENE® or ETHILON®, depending on technique, tissue type and whether removable skin sutures are preferred.
