ETHIBOND EXCEL Polyester Suture is a nonabsorbable, braided, sterile, surgical suture composed of Poly (ethylene terephthalate.) It is prepared from fibers of high molecular weight, long-chain, linear polyesters having recurrent aromatic rings as an integral component.
ETHIBOND EXCEL Suture is braided for optimal handling properties and dyed green for enhanced visibility.

This facility was to sterilize catgut (made from the intestines of farm animals such as horses, sheep or goats), or from natural fibers such as silk, or manufactured fibers such as nylon.
He recognized the purpose of utilising different materials for different types of post-surgical procedures, or for the closing of wounds. In 1947, Johnson & Johnson acquired the company and the name of Ethicon Suture Laboratories was created.
This was changed to Ethicon, Inc. in 1953, and has remained the same name since then.
